Carissa DeJulio

I am currently a Junior at Rutgers University, my major is Communications with a specialization in Public Relations, and a minor in Digital Communication Information and Media.

I chose to study Snapchat as my social media platform because of how much the application has developed over the years. The site has grown from a platform that people used to send time sensitive pictures of themselves to their peers — to a multimedia news outlet, marketplace, and information sharing platform. Leaders of the app like Kylie Jenner, have played a pivotal role in establishing the technology’s new features – ultimately changing the app to better connect with their followers, and influence their behaviors and values.
